City Vows NYC — Terms & Conditions

1. Overview

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern the use of the City Vows NYC website and the services we provide, including wedding officiating, elopement ceremonies, and micro-wedding support.
By using our site or booking our services, you agree to these Terms.

2. Use of Website

You may browse this website for personal, non-commercial use.
You agree not to:

  • Copy or reuse website content, images, or templates without permission

  • Use the site in any unlawful manner

  • Attempt to interfere with its security or functionality

All content on this site is owned by City Vows NYC unless otherwise noted.

3. Booking & Payments

  • A booking is not confirmed until a deposit or full payment (depending on service type) is received.

  • Deposits are non-refundable unless otherwise stated in your confirmation email.

  • Remaining balances (if applicable) must be paid by the date listed on your invoice.

  • Prices may change at any time, but confirmed bookings are honored at the agreed rate.

4. Cancellations & Rescheduling

If you (the couple) cancel:

  • Deposits are non-refundable.

  • If cancellation occurs within 1 day of the ceremony, the full service fee may still apply due to the reserved date and time.

If City Vows NYC must cancel:

In the extremely rare event we cannot officiate:

  • We will make every reasonable effort to arrange a qualified, legally recognized substitute officiant at no additional cost, OR

  • Provide a full refund of all fees paid.

We are not responsible for additional costs (venues, vendors, travel, etc.).

5. Ceremony Requirements

You are responsible for:

  • Securing a valid marriage license

  • Ensuring the license is presented at the ceremony

  • Understanding legal waiting periods and jurisdictional rules

City Vows NYC will:

  • Complete and sign your license

  • File it with the New York City Clerk

We are not responsible for delayed or rejected filings caused by incorrect information provided by the couple.

6. Travel & Timing

If your ceremony location requires travel:

  • Additional fees may apply (these will be stated upfront)

  • Delays of more than 20 minutes may incur late fees

  • If the ceremony is delayed excessively and conflicts with another scheduled event, we may need to abbreviate or reschedule the service

7. Photos, Media & Permissions 

With your consent, City Vows NYC may use non-identifying photos or videos from ceremonies for our website or social media.
You may revoke consent at any time by contacting us.

We will never share private ceremony details without permission.

8. Limitation of Liability

City Vows NYC is not liable for:

  • Vendor issues unrelated to officiating

  • Weather events, travel delays, or acts of force majeure

  • Incorrect license information provided by the couple

  • Any indirect or consequential damages

Our maximum liability is limited to the amount paid for your service.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update or modify these Terms occasionally.
The most current version will always be posted on this page.
